I have a long-term study that has been investigating how rapid growth and development impacts birds in Breckenridge, 科罗拉多州. 我是一个lso working on a project on the winter-feeding behavior of Northern Shovelers in the 丹佛 metro area. This is a great project for student involvement as the behavior occurs from November to March.
最后, I am currently wrapping up a study in Costa Rica on how reforestation efforts have provided habitat for neotropical migratory birds. Students that work with me often work on existing projects or we develop new projects that appeal to their own interests in conservation and birds.

Academic Background:
我是一个 first-generation college student from Southern California. However, I have now lived more of my life in 科罗拉多州 than in California. I completed my undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of California at Santa Cruz and my Master’s and Ph.D from the University of 科罗拉多州 Boulder. My first academic position was at the University of Wisconsin Eau Clair and have been at 密歇根州立大学丹佛 since 2003. I love working at 密歇根州立大学丹佛 and I am so proud of the mission of the University and truly believe that you have access to a world class education.
有趣的事实:
When I am not working, I love spending time in our great outdoors where you will find me hiking, 滑雪, 骑自行车, playing disc golf with my family, out on a run or even on the tennis court.
